The tcptty Home Page

What tcptty does:

tcptty is an adapter for programs that expect to communicate with a tty so that they can be used with a TCP connection. It is most useful for the Palm OS Emulator 3.2 or higher which allows "Serial over TCP" communication. Using this feature along with tcptty and pppd will allow you to establish a virtual LAN for Palm OS Emulator sessions.

Where to find out more about tcptty:

See the tcptty features list for more about what tcptty does.

See the on-line manual page for basic operations.

See the HTML tcptty FAQ for troubleshooting help.

See the tcptty design notes for discussion on the design choices made.

See the project's To-Do list for indications of known problems.

How to get tcptty:

You can get any of the following resources here:

Palm OS Emulator and tcptty

Included in the distribution (not the RPM) is a contrib directory which contains pose_pppd. That directory explains how to use tcptty, pppd, and the Palm OS Emulator to create a virtual LAN for Palm Emulator sessions.
